Wide Shoes

Finding extra wide shoes used to be quite difficult, even though a fairly large number of people have wide feet. But now, thanks to the internet, they can be found much more easily. Previously one had to go to a “big and tall” shop in order to find extra wide shoes. The drawbacks with this were that these types of stores cannot be found just about anywhere, and even when you find one, they may not carry the style you want. You will find a much bigger variety of extra wide shoes on the internet than in any store. Just make sure you order the right size. Wearing a pair of shoes that is too tight is not a pleasurable experience. If you find yourself breathing a sigh of relief when you take off your shoes, there is a good chance your shoes are not fitting right. Do you know if you have wide feet? Although everybody knows what the length of their foot is, a large percentage of people with wide feet do not know they have wide feet, and that they in fact need extra wide shoes.

Although a clerk at a shoe store may use a Brannock device to measure your feet (that metal contraption they have you put your foot in), they may not tell you if you have extra wide feet, since it is less likely that they will have extra wide shoes in stock. What they want is to sell you a pair of shoes, and if that pair pinches you a bit, so be it. The way you can measure the width of your feet yourself is by placing your foot on a piece of paper, and then tracing the outline of your foot with a pen or pencil. Then measure the widest part of the drawing, this should be the area just bellow the toes. Then subtract 3/16 of an inch from the result. This is to make up for the width of the pen or pencil. You now know the width of your feet and you can use those figures to order the perfect pair of extra wide shoes for you.
